the elf wires, the egg listens, the shape crawls, the bell rings, the baby hatches, the spider sings, the song toots, the line yawns, the bean breaks, the eye holds, the oval hangs, the barb wanes, the spots blink, the nose strains, the ridge falls, the beetle foams, the hand flicks, the bud opens, the ear moves, the fly creaks, the tooth laughs, the stone squeaks, the plaster hides, the fronds wrinkle, the corner sighs
“Occupying a wonderfully idiosyncratic outdoor curtain track at the threshold between house and courtyard, A History of Frogs’ aluminum, steel, and brass hanging screen makes use of a disused infrastructure that once separated the forward-facing Neutra Architecture office from the rear garden dwelling (the current home of the Neutra VDL Director, Noam Saragosti). Descending from built-in curtain hooks are a series of sculptural strands made of cast aluminum forms that forge a material connection with various elements of the house while diverging compellingly in form from the work’s architectural surroundings.” – Marta Los Angeles
