Artist Daniel Newman populates the front and back of his AHOF bookshirt with a series of “album covers”, created with the aid of an Artificial Intelligence software. AI generated song lyrics descend the left sleeve of the shirt while the right sleeve features a stop animation of AHOF’s morphing “freug” logo. This bookshirt also features a shirt tag flip book, comprised of AI interpretations of Newman's drawings.
What is a bookshirt? A book that’s a shirt. Much like a fish growing legs and walking on land, so too the page must grow legs and learn to walk around. The bookshirt is an experiment in imagining a book as a shirt. How does a poem change when it follows you through your day, when you read it waking up, backwards through a mirror?
