Makenzie Goodman's bookshirt considers geological time versus personal perceived time. Through the wormhole, a metaphor for the impossibility of conceptualizing deep geological time, the creosote plant links us to its clones nearly 12,000 years ago. What would the world look like if we could truly perceive the world ten thousand years in the past and also ten thousand years into the future?

What is a bookshirt? A book that’s a shirt. Much like a fish growing legs and walking on land, so too the page must grow legs and learn to walk around. The bookshirt is an experiment in imagining a book as a shirt. How does a poem change when it follows you through your day, when you read it waking up, backwards through a mirror?
